Sosialisasi Pembuatan Dan Pemanfaatan Vco (Virgin Coconut Oil) Kepada Warga Desa Perumnas Simalingkar Kecamatan Pancur Batu Kabupaten Deli Serdang
Abstract
Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is a coconut-based product extracted from fresh coconut meat without the use of heat, thus preserving its nutritional content and bioactive compounds beneficial to health. The production of VCO is typically carried out through mechanical methods such as cold-pressing or fermentation, which result in high-quality oil. VCO has various benefits, both as a health product (e.g., boosting the immune system, skin and hair care) and as an ingredient in the food and cosmetics industries. This study aims to examine efficient and environmentally-friendly VCO production processes, as well as explore its potential applications in daily life. In addition to health benefits, the utilization of VCO also presents significant economic opportunities, particularly for coconut farmers and local industries, by promoting the production and consumption of high-value coconut-based products. With growing awareness of natural and sustainable products, VCO is expected to become a leading alternative in supporting healthy lifestyles and empowering local economies.
