Abstract


Economic and technological developments have a significant impact on the world of work, including on the effectiveness of recruitment and selection of new employees. This condition requires companies to look for prospective workers who have a good work attitude, are adaptable and can do various things at once. In general, the methods usually used to select prospective workers are through application forms, academic achievement, interviews and cognitive abilities measured through tests. The community expects every graduate to be a work-ready graduate by becoming a graduate who has competence in their field of expertise. One of the factors that influence work readiness is emotional intelligence, industrial work practice, soft skills, and self-efficacy.
Indonesia's unemployment rate has increased, according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), it was 9.2 million people in August 2021. This data is up from 8.7 million in February 2021. Students play a very important role in their families and even in society as mediators who influence their families. The role and contribution of children is an important factor in answering various challenges in the recovery efforts and the household economy. So while they can help the family financially, it is important to provide insights to students who cannot go to college or work.
