KONSULTASI DAN PENYULUHAN BUDIDAYA TANAMAN TOMAT (Lycopersicon esculentum L.) DI DESA SUKANALU, KABANJAHE.

Abstract

Vegetable plants play an important role in human life. From an economic and social perspective, vegetable crops are a potential source of income for farmers, while from a social perspective, vegetable crops are a source of nutrition (vitamins, minerals, calories, fiber, etc.), as a source of cash income, and as a provider of employment opportunities for public.

The potential of Karo Regency is tomatoes, chilies, potatoes, vegetables and horticulture in the highland areas and Agroforestry agriculture, as well as fruit (the superior crop is oranges). The problem of increasing agricultural production and cultivation of tomato plants is that agricultural land has experienced a lot of damage (critical land), lack of human resources and agricultural tools.

The author's aim in this research is to provide consultation and counseling to farmers so that they accept and understand good and correct methods of cultivating plants. Conduct training in making organic fertilizer and checking soil fertility. Hold training and discussions with PPL about research findings from academics. Training was conducted for Gapoktans, especially in terms of making proposals to the government, financial institutions and BUMN. 

In collecting data, the author used the interview method, observation method, and documentation method. The population of this study were all members of the Sukanalu Kabanjahe Village Farmers Group.).
