Increasing Emotional Intelligence Knowledge for Young People
Abstract
A child will grow and develop well when he receives a perfect education, so that in the future he will become a useful person for society, the state and religion. Such children are healthy children in the broadest sense, namely healthy physically, mentally-emotionally, mentally intellectually, mentally socially and mentally spiritually. Youth is referred to as a period of storm and stress, namely a period where emotional tension increases as a result of physical and glandular changes. The heightened emotions are caused by young people being under pressure which requires them to become new hopes both in the early years and in the future. This kind of depressed state can also cause a teenager to fail to solve a problem, so that adolescence is often said to be a problematic age.
Problems that occur in teenagers are often problems that are difficult to overcome also because teenagers feel independent, so they feel like they want to solve their problems themselves and refuse help from family, parents and teachers.
Emotional intelligence is a valuable skill for young people to have. Emotional intelligence increases resilience and self-awareness, and aids in the development of healthy relationships. Teenage emotions can be very strong. Their bodies and hormones are going through big changes, and these are often accompanied by big feelings. If teenagers can use emotional intelligence to recognize and control their emotions, they will be better prepared to face the turbulent teenage years. One solution to take the steps above is to provide emotional intelligence coaching to young people, so that they can increase their knowledge of emotional intelligence.
