PENGABDIAN DOSEN KEPADA MASYARAKAT DALAM SITUASI PANDEMI CORONA VIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID 19) “(DOSEN PERDULI)”

Abstract

The obligations of each university as described in the Tridharma of Higher Education are Education, Research, and Community Service. The National Education System states that tertiary institutions are obliged to provide education, research and community service based on Article 20 paragraph 2 of Law no. 20 of 2003. Then Article 47 paragraph 1 of Law Number 12 Year 2012 concerning Higher Education states that "community service is defined as the activity of the Academic Community in practicing and cultivating Science and Technology to advance general welfare and the intellectual life of the nation". For this reason, this service is present in the form of concern for Quality University Lecturers with the theme: "Lecturer Cares" to help underprivileged families who are truly considered unable to meet their own needs. The results of this service are expected to be able to help and ease the burden on the recipients of basic foodstuffs amid the outbreak of the Corona Virus by providing packages of basic necessities such as rice, sugar and cooking oil. The recipients of this basic food are only given to the people around the banyan village, Medan Selayang sub-district in the city of Medan.
