Abstract


His activity generally discusses the application of Ice Breakers in the teaching and learning process to create a meaningful but fun learning, not making the children of the Tanjung Morawa social institution, the Social Service of the Province of North Sumatra get bored easily, easily understand, and their memory takes longer to capture material given by the teacher. In general, the teacher's main task is to plan, guide, and evaluate the teaching and learning process. However, it was not as easy as the teacher thought as he might face some challenges. Even though he had done his job, he was unable to produce optimal results. One factor relates to the learning environment. Learning environment that is not supportive can affect the physical and psychological aspects of students. This can lead to student fatigue and it affects their cognitive development and creativity which in turn affects their learning achievement. Ice breaking is an activity that can solve this problem. This activity currently discusses the types and how icebreakers are implemented to improve the quality of the learning itself. This technique can be applied in learning Indonesian
