Abstract


Drug abuse usually begins with the first use at school age, due to offers, persuasion, and pressure from someone or peers. Driven by curiosity or wanting to try, they are willing to accept it. Furthermore it is not difficult to accept the next offer of use once, then several times. Finally become dependence on the substances used. Drugs that are often abused and cause dependence include heroin (putauw), methamphetamine (methamphetamine), ecstasy, sedatives and sleeping pills, marijuana, and cocaine. Tobacco and alcohol (liquor) which are often abused are also addictive. The social impact of drug abuse on adolescents in an orphanage is everything caused by drug abuse. These impacts are divided into three categories, namely impacts on the environment, impacts on the economy, and impacts on health. The impact on the environment is the impact of drug abuse on adolescents in Adolescents at the Social Institution for Adolescents in Tanjung Morawa, the Social Service for North Sumatra Province 1st Lift of 2020 on social relationships and changes in their social spirit to become anti-social. The impact on the economy is drug addiction, harming parents, and harming others. The impact on health is divided into two categories, namely physical impacts and mental / psychological impacts.
