Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of flashcard media on students’ learning outcomes in PKN on the topic of the diversity of ethnic groups and Indonesian culture among IV grade students at UPT SD Negeri 066656 Medan Selayang in the academic year 2025/2026. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The population of this study consisted of all IV grade students, with the sample taken from two classes: the experimental class taught using flashcard media and the control class taught using conventional learning without flashcard media. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes in the experimental class compared to the control class. The average post-test score of the experimental class was 83.61, which was higher than that of the control class at 77.22. The use of flashcard learning media had a significant effect based on the results of inferential statistical analysis using the t-test formula, which obtained a calculated t-value of 2.67. At a significance level of 0.05, the t-table value was 2.03. Since the calculated t-value was greater than the t-table value at the 0.05 significance level, the hypothesis (H₁) was accepted. This indicates that there is a significant effect of using flashcard media on students’ learning outcomes in PKN on the topic of the diversity of ethnic groups and Indonesian culture among IV grade students at UPT SDN 066656 Medan Selayang in the academic year 2025/2026.
