Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode bermain peran terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV di SD Negeri 050729 Tanjung Pura. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterampilan berbicara siswa dalam menyampaikan pendapat, menjawab pertanyaan, dan berkomunikasi secara lisan selama proses pembelajaran. Metode bermain peran dipilih sebagai alternatif pembelajaran karena mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar yang aktif, kreatif, dan menyenangkan sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi sekaligus sampel penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 050729 Tanjung Pura yang berjumlah 25 orang dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes keterampilan berbicara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar penilaian keterampilan berbicara yang meliputi aspek pelafalan, intonasi, kelancaran, kosakata, dan keberanian berbicara. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji t untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode bermain peran terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode bermain peran memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa. Setelah diberikan perlakuan, kemampuan berbicara siswa mengalami peningkatan dibandingkan sebelum perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh bahwa hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H₀) ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode bermain peran berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV di SD Negeri 050729 Tanjung Pura.

The background of this study is the low level of students' speaking skills in expressing opinions, answering questions, and communicating orally during the learning process. The role-playing method was chosen as an alternative teaching strategy because it provides active, creative, and enjoyable learning experiences that are expected to improve students' speaking skills. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population as well as the sample consisted of all 25 fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 050729 Tanjung Pura using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, speaking skill tests, and documentation. The research instrument was a speaking skills assessment sheet covering pronunciation, intonation, fluency, vocabulary, and confidence in speaking. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test to determine the effect of the role-playing method on students' speaking skills. The findings indicated that the implementation of the role-playing method had a positive effect on students' speaking skills. After the treatment, the students' speaking ability improved compared to their performance before the treatment. The hypothesis testing results showed that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted while the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the role-playing method has a significant effect on the speaking skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 050729 Tanjung Pura. | ||||||||||||
